The season is changing, and so is our wardrobe. New looks, new fabrics, new colours and new opportunities to be yourself and express your personality.
Degrees begin to fall, the lightness of summer clothes is replaced by heavier fabrics and sandals give way to the first boots.
Whether you are a fan of it or not, autumn is the season par excellence where style and functionality meet halfway, to deal with temperature swings and early wardrobe changes.

The buzzword is layering, so to wear layers of clothing, or to ‘dress like an onion’, as grandmothers used to say. A smart move all year round, but even more so in autumn, a season where being ready for anything makes all the difference.
This is when transitional garments and styling them the right way is key. Interesting and versatile models that can keep you warm and fashionable, but also ready for temperature changes.

If you want to give your autumn wardrobe a new touch, this is the right season to experiment with colours and combinations that can interact with each other and enhance each other.

Autumn Colours 2023

One of the best things about autumn is the range of warm colours, which come straight from nature and are perfect for offsetting the arrival of the first cold days of the season. To find out which colours will dominate in autumn 2023, the best place to look is the catwalks. In fashion, each new Autumn/Winter season brings with it a series of new colour trends that influence the way we dress and what we will find in the shops.

Browns verging on coffee tones but also surprising bursts of colour, perfect for those who are not yet ready to say goodbye to summer. On the one hand, the Barbie pink is starting to fade, but other bold shades are ready to take its place. These include ice blue and green, which can be used in all their shades to make even the most minimal looks stand out.

From accessories to outerwear and trousers, you can use colours to give your wardrobe a new twist.

Cold weather doesn’t mean dull colours. Just because summer is leaving, it doesn’t mean we have to give up the shades that remind us of it. This is why ochre is also a popular colour for the autumn fashion 2023. If you don’t feel like going all out with this colour, you can always opt for a simple splash of yellow with the right accessory, or for a softer yellow to stand out on a light fabric.

As anticipated, the good news for lovers of tradition is that all shades of brown remain in vogue this year, from camel to chocolate. The time has come to pull our beloved trench coat out of the wardrobe. Not only that, but brown can also be fashioned with leather skirts, shiny dresses and shorts. Simplicity is not synonymous with boredom and the classics can always be revamped, whatever the season. This concept applies even more to black, which remains in fashion this autumn and is also the star of the Rinascimento collection. It’s a colour that always works, whether for more sporty or more elegant looks.

How to Dress in Autumn

We have talked about layering, but how is it done in the right way and with style? Let’s start with one of the best allies in this field: the blazer.
One of the easiest ways to dress in layers is to add a blazer at the end, whether for a more elegant or more street look. Turtlenecks and suit trousers as well as jeans and t-shirts are perfect combinations to wear this evergreen garment, in any colour. Besides blazers, in the same category we find the leather jacket, which manages to give structure to any look and also works over summer dresses that we are not yet ready to say goodbye to. A leather mania is on the horizon this autumn, featuring biker jackets, trench coats, waistcoats, shirts and skirts.

And speaking of skirts, this is the right time to experiment with different lengths.

Because the temperatures are not too cold yet, both mini and midi skirts work, depending on the combinations. With or without socks, with boots or trainers, with jumpers or oversized sweatshirts, it’s up to you! Just make sure you choose the right fabrics!

Indeed, besides the type of garments, another crucial aspect in autumn is the fabric they are made of. If you are buying new pieces for your wardrobe this season, go for leather, denim, velvet and heavy cotton. The key is opposites. Pair a loose fit with the tighter fit of lighter garments to stay cool but also warm - and fashionable - regardless of temperature fluctuations.
