Spring is finally here, summer is getting closer and you have been invited to a formal event and you have no clue what to wear.
Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. That’s why we decided to put together a guide to the perfect Summer edition ceremony style.
But first, a small introduction: let’s talk about tradition. You may have heard that for occasions such as weddings, whether religious or civil, there are two colours that are strictly banned for your outfit. White, reserved for the bride, and black. Yes that’s right, black too, even if the event takes place in the evening.
As we mentioned, many brides choose not to follow the traditional etiquette today and opt for dresses in colours ranging from white to pink, and even red or black for the more daring. It’s also not unusual for brides themselves to recommend the most suitable palette for their guests or bridesmaids and groomsmen. So don’t worry, sometimes a deviation from the rule is allowed, especially if your favourite dress is the timeless black dress.
Still unsure and prefer to play it safe?
Still unsure and prefer to play it safe? Do you love pastel colours and floral patterns? Play with lengths, light fabrics, asymmetrical cuts and natural tones. Light blue, pink, lilac, blue, emerald green; but also choose elegant fabrics such as lurex or satin that will add intensity to your look.
Opt for a cocktail style if your event takes place during the first half of the day and choose light long dresses for evening events instead.
Our top tip for formal occasions is less is more and above all remember, you may have to wear your dress for several hours, so don’t forget about comfort and choose the right accessories. Heels and platforms get the go ahead along with clutches and medium bags to carry everything you might need.
